차세대 통신을 위한 필수 요구사항 중 하나는 기존 통신 시스템보다 더 높은 스펙트럼 효율(SE)과 에너지 효율(EE)을 지원하는 것입니다. SE를 높이기 위해 CA(Carrier Aggregation)가 큰 주목을 받았습니다. 본 논문에서는 CA 적용 시 요구되는 SE를 만족하면서 EE를 높이는 E2S-CFR(Energy Efficient Smart Crest Factor Reduction) 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 E2S-CFR은 필요한 EVM(Error Vector Magnitude)에 따라 각 반송파의 서로 다른 가중치를 활용하고 PAR(Peak to Average Power Ratio)을 효율적으로 줄입니다.

Abstract: One of essential requirements for the next generation communications is to support higher spectral efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE) than the existing communication system. For increasing the SE, carrier aggregation (CA) has received great attention. In this paper, we propose an energy efficient smart crest factor reduction (E2S-CFR) method for increasing the EE while satisfying the required SE when the CA is applied. The proposed E2S-CFR exploits different weights on each carrier according to the required error vector magnitude (EVM), and efficiently reduces the peak to average power ratio (PAR). Consequently, we can reduce the bias voltage of a power amplifier, and it leads to save total consumed energy. Through performance evaluation, we demonstrate that the proposed E2S-CFR improves the EE by 11.76% compared to the existing schemes.
